SCORE Maine is the official presenter of two annual educational programs that provide tax preparers, enrolled agents, CPAs and legal professionals with updated information about annual changes in Maine and Federal tax laws. The Tax Practitioner Institute (TPI) and the Maine Tax Forum (MTF) both provide continuing education credits. CPE and CLE credits are available.
CPAs – The Maine Board of Accountancy does not certify education providers or pre-approve any courses for continuing education credits. In the past, the Maine Tax Practitioner Institute programs have been accepted by the Board for continuing education credits. Click here to review the Board of Accountancy rules. Eight sessions, including one (1) on Tax Law Updates, six (6) on Federal Tax Law Topics, and one (1) on Ethics are offered. There is the option to elect a session on Maine Tax Law in place of one (1) Federal Tax Law Topic.

ENROLLED AGENTS AND TAX PREPARERS – The IRS has approved the 2024 program for six (6) CE hours of Federal Tax Law Topics, One (1) CE hour of Federal Tax Updates, and one (1) CE hour of Ethics. If you select the Maine Tax Updates session your IRS credits will be reduced by one (1).
